I like this photo, very nicely framed. You guys have a good eye for urban imagery. I like the simplicity of this and the way it makes me wonder about it's context. This fits well with the factory demoliton photos posted a couple of days ago.
Thanks - just a painted wall, of a nearby business.
Not enough people pay attention to this kind of detail I feel. As an architect I love to seek them out but I am I have to admit I'm too lazy to photograph them even though I should! For me much of the beauty of urban spaces lies in this kind of vernacular signage and streetscape. They reveal the spirit and the ways people make their environment their own. I shall definately be looking in from time to time to see more of your photos :)
You are too kind. Flattery will get you.... ummm....more pictures! :)
Please check back later in the week, I have some more architectural details that I haven't had a chance to upload to flickr yet.
I also emphatically agree with your description of urban space - this is one reason why I live downtown.
As far as not taking photos of your own - just carry around a tiny digital camera. Not fancy, just something small enough that you don't mind it as being a constant companion as you walk about.
I shall look forward to them! You are quite right of course, yet another reason I should invest in a digital camera...
