Finally going to see this flick, I must have moved into my queue at the right time, as the DVD was just released yesterday. As the years plod on, and I slide into doddering cranky middle-agedness, I see less and less first run movies in the theatre.
Netflixed: Syriana : George Clooney (who gained 30 lbs. for the role) plays CIA operative Robert Baer in this first-person account of the agency's false confidence regarding what they considered to be the bright future of Middle East after the end of the Cold War. Based on the best-selling book See No Evil: The True Story of a Ground Soldier in the CIA's War on Terrorism, the movie also stars Matt Damon, Amanda Peet and Greta Scacchi.

I received it today; amazing to get a new release right off the bat!
Is it because the movie didn't do well, and we are the only fools interested?
PS - how come no more comments allowed on your site?
A definite possibility. The most enthusiastic word-of-mouth I heard over Syriana? "It's ok."
Strange--do you get an error when trying to post? I got rid of HaloScan but thought I turned on Blogger comments.
no, no errors, just noticed that nothing ever shows up. At first I just thought you decided to only allow meaningful comments, and were culling out my one-liners. Probably not the case though. ;)
Maybe the comments are being sent to your email clients spam filter? (Used to happen to me).
I thought the lack of comments was was due to particularly rote blogging of late. I've yet to censor anyone!
well, I made a (vaguely nonsensical free association) comment this afternoon on your 2nd home post. Seems to have gone to the ethers.
On that point: (not what I left in comments)
My mother's parents and several of her siblings live in Guam: totally is a communal family thing. They call my grandparents place the compound because the families are so tightly nit- every morning coffee is a group event. Plenty of in-laws and ex-inlaws and such live in walking distance (I am the oldest of 33 grandchildren, more than half of them live on Guam), mostly on good terms with everyone else.
I imagine the social customs/mores in the Phillipines are similar.
