Detroit? 8 Mile? Charity begins at home. I wish there were soething positive to say.
Detroit is the worst example, but there are lots more. Just think of all the money wasted on the futile war in Iraq -and all of the crumbling infrastructure all around the US. I remember when Bill Clinton was running for office (92 or 96, can't remember), that was a powerful applause line about investing in the nation's bridges, roads and communities. Whatever happened to that? Blame the obstructionist Republicans, but the Democratic party sure didn't push for it either.
